Verey I for Mac

We know first hand how close Mac owners are to their systems, they can almost be like family. But what would you do if your Mac and all of the data on it was lost or stolen? Verey, is a unique theft recovery solution that utilizes the built -in iSight camera to capture video of thieves and unauthorized users of your system and sends it to your email account along with location and network information including all wireless networks in the area.

 

How it works

When stolen and a network connection is established the user is prompted for a password with a timer. If the password is not entered, Verey will start recording via a connected video capture device (e.g. iSight) and send emails to the owner's email addresses. The email will contain the necessary network information: IP address, machine serial number, MAC Hardware Address as well as nearby wireless networks and video clips captured by the camera. Verey will also limit the usage of the machine by locking up the machine after a certain amount of time. During lock up, the machine screen will shows details how to contact the owner and other information set by the owner.

 

Privacy Safe

Traditional location tracking solutions track each movement of a system from a monitoring centre, raising serious privacy concerns. Verey utilizes privacy-safe location tracking technology that does not rely on a monitoring centre and also protects your privacy. It is our firm belief that no monitoring centre should be allowed to access a computer system, alter data on the system, or install software such as key loggers, so we removed the "back door access" altogether. All of the information that Verey gathers is sent directly to you.

 

If your system is stolen and a connection is made you then provide the information that Verey sends to the authorities with our contact details and we can work with them to get the system back.

 

Tamper Proof & Persistent

Our software utilizes various tactics to evade detection by a thief. All communication is done silently in the background with no indication that the software is sending information. It is impossible to remove the software without an administrative password and the application files are hidden on the system from view. Verey is also designed to work in "hostile" network environments; even where internet connectivity is poor it will be able to send information worldwide. Verey has the ability to integrate with your Twitter account, this way you will also be able to receive alerts via IM, SMS, email and the web.
