GadgetTrak USB is a patent-pending theft recovery system for removable media devices. GadgetTrak USB enables gadget owners to track missing or stolen devices. The software agent files are installed on storage device, such as a flash drives, digital cameras, SD memory cards, and MP3 players such as iPods and other devices.

How Gadget Trak works
The GadgetTrak USB agent is triggered when the user attempts to access the drive from a PC. When the agent is triggered, it communicates with our server immediately and transparently.If the device has been reported stolen GadgetTrak USB collects information regarding the host system the device is currently connected to. When the data is delivered to the server, a report is generated with the time, username, computer name, internal network address, location (country, state/region, city), ISP (Internet Provider Information) and other data that relates to that connection instance.The information that GadgetTrak collects from the host system can then be sharedwith law enforcement in addition to filing a police report. In the event the device has really been stolen, GadgetTrak will personally follow up with you to assist in the recovery of your device and can assist law enforcement with technical support as needed.
Technical Specifications
GadgetTrak USB can be triggered from Windows systems when a device is plugged in and and an initial prompt is presented, when thief accesses the drive directly, or when they try to access specific files on the drive. Mac OS X is supported partially, as a special file is put on the drive that when accessed will trigger the agent on machines running OS X to communicate with the GadgetTrak server.
