To put the remote data delete function into context here is a short example of a scenario in which it might be used;
You are using the ExactTrak Secure USB device to transport some sensitive data from a regional office to head office 200 miles away. The device contains information about your clients. You arrive at the station, following the train journey, at which point you realise you no longer have the bag containing the secure USB device. When you arrive at the office you immediately log into the Security Guardian management console to track the device. It is clear that it wasn’t left at the station or on the train and that the secure USB device has fallen into the wrong hands. You use the data delete function to actually destroy the memory chip and hence all the data, before the information can be accessed by those who have maliciously obtained it. The only thing you have lost is the device, not your reputation. The ExactTrak Secure USB has an internal battery and does not need to be attached to a computer or the internet for the Data Delete to happen.
